Thanksgiving / Family

We had a lovely, restful trip to Kentucky for Thanksgiving and got to enjoy the company of some folks we only see once or twice a year now. It had been well over two years since the last family portrait! We have also had one new addition to the family since then, so some family photos were well overdue:

Alex / Family

Recently, a group of siblings wanted a shoot to have photos to give to their mom as a Christmas gift. Good kids, in my opinion. They were great subjects since they laughed the whole time, except when I asked them to hug and the brother said, "we're not that kind of family." Each shoot has its own challenge I guess ;-)

Sisters

A lovely family with adorable girls got their photos taken right before Thanksgiving - and the weather held admirably considering what a wet, awful fall we've had. I was so pleased to get to take the whole family outside.

These two sisters have incredibly beautiful eyes in very expressive faces. Taking their photo was a joy :-)

Jon / Malory

I did a shoot recently at Lake Eureka in Eureka, Illinois.  It was part a family session complete with mom, dad, adorable toddler, and too-cute puppy... and it was also part maternity shoot because they are now expecting a son for themselves and brother for their little girl.

It was crisp fall weather, beautiful scenery, and a really wonderful family.

Emily's Trash the Dress in Chicago

I met up with a friend in Chicago to shoot a long awaited Trash the Dress session.  Emily recently celebrated a Catholic mass second ceremony... but with her one and only husband =). She lived in the city and studied sculpture at University of Illinois, Chicago during their romance and the early days of their marriage.  So this seemed the right way to celebrate how far she's come.

Mike & Julie, in preparation

My most recent wedding was a blast.  The guys were in kilts, the girls were having a lot of fun, the church was located in an historic theater, and everyone was pretty much up for anything.  It was a photographer's dream.  Sure, it was raining in the morning.  We just worked with it and got some really cute photos in the process.

Mike & Julie, the girls

Mike & Julie, the wingmen

This was such a fun group!  These guys were completely secure in their kilts - I got them to run around, jump, do some Braveheart moves.  They were definitely not afraid to show a little leg =)

Sarah and Flint, in the beginning

This was a fun wedding with a HUGE wedding party - 29 people total including the bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and children.  This made for some unique aspects in getting everyone to cooperate and a time crunch with so many people, but it was a lot of fun to rise to the challenge in the end.

Mark and Colleen

My dearest friend got married this spring, and since I was in the wedding party, I wasn't able to take the photos!  However, once my duties as matron of honor were completed, I was able to get in a few pictures.
